Muncie
Adrian Lewis Adams, Sr., 56, of Muncie, IN, passed away Friday,
November 20, 2009, at Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 11, 1953, in Viper, KY, the son of James R.
and Peggy Adams. He was a 1972 graduate of South Decatur High School near
Greensburg, IN, and a 1978 graduate of Purdue University in Lafayette, IN.
Adrian
was a chemist and was laboratory manager for the chemistry department at Ball
State University for over 30 years. He served two terms as University Staff
Council President and held other leadership roles as well. He received many
awards from BSU including the prestigious A. Jane Morton award. He was a
member and deacon of Grace Baptist Church in Muncie.
Survivors include his mother, of Columbus; his wife, Barbara Ann
Moore Adams, whom he married in May, 1978, in Westport, IN; his daughter, Dayna
Royston, (husband, Greg) of Greenville, South Carolina; his son, Pastor Adrian
L. Adams Jr. of Greenville, South Carolina; four brothers, James Adams, Randy
Adams, Chris Craft and Ben Craft; three sisters, Cathy Reed, Sheila Flath and
Michelle Komsi; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Joan Moore.
He was preceded in death by his father in September 1965; and his sister, Dora Tungate, in October, 2001.
The funeral was conducted at Grace Baptist Church, in Muncie, on Wednesday,
November 25, 2009, with Pastor Collins Glenn officiating. Burial followed at
Mount Aerie Cemetery in Letts.
