HISTORY:
Residential: Raised in the New Bethel Community. He has been a Westport resident since 1956.
Education: He graduated from North Vernon High School in 1953.
He attended Indiana Central College, Indiana Business College and IUPUI at
Columbus.
Occupation: He was the manager of application engineering at MLKS Bearings
in Greensburg until his
retirement in 1997. He had 42 years of service with MLKS and held 2 United
States Patents for bearing assemblies.
Awards: He received the Greensburg Area Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award in 1997.
Memberships: Westport Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday School Class
for 38 years, member of the
Living Witness Choir, served as a Deacon, on the Board of Trustees and on the
building committee.
He was a member of the Gospel Echo Quartet for over 20 years.
Member of the Westport Kiwanis Club where he served two terms as President.
He was a Past Lt. Governor of Kiwanis International for the Farmland Division in 1998-1999.
He served 12 years (1991-2003) on the Westport Town Council and served as council president.
Currently serving on the Decatur County Board of Zoning Appeals.
AIM mentor at South Decatur Elementary School.
Member of the former Westport Archery Club.
Member of the society of manufacturing engineers and the society of automotive engineers
Hobbies: Woodworking, canoeing, hiking, fishing, golf, volunteer carpentry work and traveling.
His travels have taken him to all 50
states.
