Former Westport resident Geneva F. Stunkel Cheesman, age 89 of Brooksville, Florida died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Oak Hill Hospital at Brooksville,
Florida of natural causes. She was born February 5, 1921 in Napoleon, Indiana. The daughter of Henry H. & Alma M.(Bunselmier) Holzhause.

She became a Christian thru the ministry of the Letts Camp Meetings. She was a minister’s wife. She and her husband, the Rev. Robert Stunkel, had their
first pastorate at the Rodney Pilgrim Holiness Church. They also served churches at Terre Haute, Petersburg, Twin Oaks and Orleans in Indiana and also in
Miami, Florida.  She was a licensed minister with the Pilgrim Holiness and Wesleyan Churches.  

She enjoyed growing flowers. 

She married the Rev. Robert Stunkel on October 11, 1941 in Westport.

He preceded her in death on January 19, 1959. 

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Gene & Sally Stunkel of Carlsbad, California; daughter and son-in-law: Martha & Carl Stopp of Spring Hill,
Florida; 5 Step daughters; sister: Leora Rolfs of Cincinatti, Ohio; 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 brothers: Bobby Gene, Fred and Ezra Holzhause; 5 Sisters: Florence Morgan, Hazel Schalk,
Pauline Gehner, Naomi Schalk & Ruth Brunton. 

The funeral service will be conducted at the Westport Wesleyan Church on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may call at the
Bass & Gasper Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will take place at the
Westport Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westport Wesleyan Church through the funeral home.
