Peter J. "Pete" Sessions, 69, of Westport, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born on June 14, 1949 in Sendai, Japan the son of John Paul Sessions & Theresa "Pat" (Patnick) Rhodes-Kelly. He was raised and had lived 10 years as an adult in Columbus, Georgia. He also resided in Hope, Clifford & Westport, Indiana. He attended Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia. He retired in 2008 from Pete's Appliance and had also worked at the Golden Foundry. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. He enjoyed fishing, racing, football & all sports. He married Joyce Caldwell on November 24, 1967 in Columbus, Indiana and she survives. Other survivors include his mother, Theresa "Pat" Rhodes-Kelly of Leesburg, Florida; sons, Rob (Kim) Sessions of Hope, Indiana, Chris (Lisa) Sessions of North Vernon, Indiana and Josh (Ashley) Sessions of Hope, Indiana; sister, Libby Starr-Ringley of Brunswick, Georgia; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Diane Sharp. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Burial will follow at Flatrock Baptist Cemetery in Clifford, Indiana. The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Wounded Warrior Project.
