History:

Residential: She traveled widely in the United States, Europe, the Far East and Australia.  
                 
Her biography appears in the 5th and 6th
editions of Who’s Who of American Women 
                  and the 5th edition
of the Biographical Directories of Librarians in the United States and Canada. 
                  After retirement from the education field, she moved to Sebring, Florida.

Occupation: She was an English and History Teacher at Noblesville High School, Millersburg High School, 
                   Froebel High School in Gary and Plymouth High School from 1946 till 1956.
                  
In 1956 she went to Colorado and was supervisor of libraries in Littleton, a librarian in Pueblo Public
                   Schools, an assistant Professor and Librarian at Adams State College in Alamosa, a visiting 
                   instructor of library science at Western State College in Gunnison, at Highland University and at 
                   the University of Denver. In 1966 she returned to Indiana to be supervisor of Libraries in the State 
                   Dept. for Public Instruction. She went to Perry Central Junior High School as a Librarian, then to
                   Keystone Middle School. She help move and open the new library at Perry Meridian High School in
                   the suburb of Indianapolis. She retired from there in 1987. 

Education: She graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1943.
                
She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Butler University in 1946.
                
She received a Masters of Arts Degree from Indiana University in 1955.

Memberships: Sebring United Methodist Church, where she was chairman of the library committee. 
   
                   Women’s Club of Sebring, Florida where she held offices.

1 Sister - Mrs. (Robert) Wilma Marie Pilkington - Denver, Colorado

1 Niece - Penny (Pilkington) Spiegel - Sebring, Florida

2 Nephews - Steve Pilkington - Decatur, Indiana

                   Ron Pilkington - Napoleon, Ohio

      

Preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Myron and Kenneth Fredenburg in infancy
