Residential: He was born and raised in Indianapolis. He has been a Decatur County resident since 1994.

Education: He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis.

Military Service: He was a veteran of WWII having served with the US Army.

Occupation: He retired from Eli Lilly & Company in 1989 after 44 years of service.
                      He retired as director of the safety patrol at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2002 after
                       52 years of service.

Memberships: Prospect Masonic Lodge # 714 F. & A.M.
                           Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite – Valley of Indianapolis.
                           Murat Shrine Temple AAONMS at Indianapolis.
                           The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
                           Veteran of Foreign Wars Post # 1120 at Indianapolis.
                           He attended Mt. Aerie Baptist Church at Letts
