HISTORY:

Residential: He was a lifelong resident of Westport.

Education: He graduated from South Decatur High School in 1969.

Occupation: He retired from Delta Faucet in Greensburg after 34 years of service.
                      He also worked for Lowe’s Distribution Center at North Vernon and was a sub mail carrier for the Westport Post office.

Hobbies: Being a “Jack of all trades”, the son of a carpenter and grandson of a farmer, he enjoyed working with his hands in construction,
                 restoration of homes, reupholstering of furniture and doing crafts. His love of nature sprung forth the avid gardener he loved most.
                 Being appreciative of our Creator’s works he could see the beauty in the “simplicity of a single blade of grass” as well as the beauty
                 in the “complexity of a rose”. He would say one does not out shine the other for both are as beautiful as the other by design.

                 His favorite pastime was sitting in a patch of clover, hunting and collecting 4 leaf loved clovers, of which  hundreds have been picked
                 by his hand and pressed away in an album, or given away to friends.

                           Former member of the Westport Kiwanis Club

                           Former T-ball and Little League coach

                           Former Cub Scout Leader

1 Daughter - Jennifer Martin (Fiancée: Chad Brodhacker) - Indianapolis, IN

2 Sons - Rodney L. (Kendra) Martin - Butlerville, IN

                Ryan M. Martin - Virginia Beach, VA

1 Brother - Danny L. Martin - Westport, IN 

2 Grandchildren: Rhett L Martin and Kenlee B. Martin

3 Nieces and 1 Nephew
