HISTORY:
Residential: He was born and raised in the Westport area. He retired in 1980 and moved back to Westport.
Education:
He graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1940 and attended Central Normal
Teacher College.
He received his teaching degree at IU and went on to
receive 3 Master Degrees in Education, Audio Visual and School Administration.
In 1977 he received a Pastoral Diploma from the Moody
Bible
Institute
Military Service:
He was drafted into Civil Conservation Corp in 1941 and iIn 1942 went into the
Army Air Corp. and served during WWII
and Korea. While stationed in Texas he was a member of a
Gospel Quartet
that sang often on radio stations.
Occupation:
He started his teaching career at Greensburg German Jr. High School. He then
served as Principal at Burney, Brown County
and Silver Lake Schools. For 17 years he
taught and was the chairman of the Science Department at Calumet Jr. High School
in Gary.

Retired Teachers Association of Decatur County
Hobbies: He enjoyed gardening, farming and photography.
