Sophia Susan “Sue” McDaniel, 61, of Greensburg, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:45 a.m. at her residence. She was born on December 7, 1949 in Laurel, Indiana.
She was the daughter of John Henry and Nannie (Eliton) McDaniel. She had lived in Laurel until she was 7 years old and the family moved to Kentucky. After her marriage she moved to Miami, Florida. She had been a resident of Decatur County for the past 2 years. She had worked for Access Self Storage in Wayne, New Jersey. She was a member of the Greensburg Wesleyan Church and she helped out with the Youth Group at the church. She enjoyed fishing and volunteering with the families in need program in New Jersey.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Robert) Fratticcioli of Williamstown, New Jersey, Helen (John) Sullivan of Doyle, Tennessee; her sons, John Carmichael of Miami, Florida, Nicholas (Yoonjae) Pristash of Montague, New Jersey, Daniel (Kate) Pristash of Roebling, New Jersey; her sisters Anna Steele of Metamora, Ada Lunsford of North Vernon, Alfa McDaniel of Greensburg, Lois Rucker of Doyle, Tennessee, Fanny McDaniel of Greensburg; her brother, James McDaniel of North Vernon; 6 Grandchildren, Peter, Amanda & Charlie Fratticcioli, Gordon Prestash, Andrew & Nannie Jean Carmichael, Abbi Carmichael Pennington; her special friend, Alfred Pristash of Robbinsville, New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Son, Charles Carmichael; sister, Corrina McDaniel; brothers, Grannvile Pearl, Charles, George, William, John D., Roscoe, Kenneth, Ray, Clarence, and Joe McDaniel.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the Greensburg Wesleyan Church with Pastor Doug Preston officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery at Greensburg. Friends may call at the Greensburg Wesleyan Church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Wesleyan Church through the funeral home. Arrangements were entrusted to Bass & Gasper Funeral Home.
