N. Jean McIntosh, 84 of Letts, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 7:40 p.m. at her residence.
She was born February 15, 1926 in Columbus, Indiana to William D. and Bessie (Fordyce) Bohall. She was raised in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School. Jean had lived in Columbus for 39 years, Greensburg for 10 years, Kentucky for 32 years and Letts since 2007. She had been a bookkeeper for several years at Kroot Corporation at Columbus and had retired in 2001 from the Church of the Annunciation of Shelbyville, Kentucky. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Millhousen, Indiana and the St. Anne’s Alter Society.
She was first married was to Norman L. Brown in Columbus, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1955. Her second marriage was to William E. McIntosh in Tennessee on March 17, 1963 and he preceded her in death in July 6, 2008.
She was an avid reader. While in Greensburg she headed the Girl Scouts of America program.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Tony) Eden, and Angie (Ken) Dilkes both of Greensburg, IN; her sons, Mike (Jane) Brown and David T. Brown both of Columbus, IN, William H. “Tosh” (Kathy) McIntosh of Troy, OH, Nick E. (Valery) McIntosh of Shelbyville, KY; her grandchildren, Amy (Greg) Kinker of Greensburg, IN, Jeff K. Brown of North Vernon, IN, Chris D. (Somer) Brown of Las Vegas, NV, Heather Bultman of Westport, IN, Robin (Nick) Allen of Letts, IN, Alli Anahuati of Columbus, IN, Amy Jo Kingham McIntosh of Troy, OH, Michelle Brown of San Antonio, TX, Jeff A. Brown of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Zach K. McIntosh of Shelbyville, KY; her great grandchildren, Jordan and Hannah Brown of Seattle, Washington, Ethan Allen of Letts, IN, Sarah Bultman of Westport, IN, Karlie Brown of Columbus, IN, Toren Brown of Minneapolis, MN, Piper Brown of Las Vegas, NV, and Macy K. Kinker of Greensburg, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Annunciation Chapel with Father Bill Bowling officiating. Burial will be at the Grove Hill Cemetery at Shelbyville, Kentucky. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 26 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home at Westport and from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
