Vergie Fay (Vanderbur) Scgalski, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 4:27 a.m.
on Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital at North Vernon.
She was born on February 16, 1932 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, the daughter of
William and Dollie (Denny) Heath. She was born and raised in Kentucky and moved
to Indiana in 1948. She was a former resident of Westport and Madison. She had
worked for the Ford Plant in North Vernon and the Dress Factory in Greensburg.
She was a member of the Mt. Aerie Baptist Church at Letts. She enjoyed hunting,
fishing, boating and water skiing.
Her 1st marriage was to Marvin L. Vanderbur in Westport, Indiana on November 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2001. Her 2nd marriage was to Joe T. Scgalski, Sr. in Canaan, Indiana on July 20, 2003 and he survives along with her daughter, Glenna Franklin of Connersville; her sister, Lena Morrell of Amarillo, Texas; her brothers, Leo Heath of Connersville and Kelly (Shirley) Heath of Greensburg; her grandchildren, Ryan Alan Herrmann of Greensburg, Selena (Eugene) Hudson of Connersville, Lanette Hobbs of Columbus, her great grandchildren, Alanna Hobbs of Columbus, Cheyenne Herrmann and Nathan Hudson of Connersville. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st Husband, Marvin L. Vanderbur, her son Richard Vanderbur, her sisters, Nellie Ball, Ellen Alice Brown her brothers, Donald, Ed and Henry Heath.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Aerie Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
