Margaret Elizabeth Wiley

Margaret Elizabeth Wiley, 87 of Westport, passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Heritage House Nursing Home at Greensburg. She was born on November 30, 1923 in Jennings County the daughter of George and Jessie (Cooke) Hamilton. She was raised in Jennings and Decatur Counties and was a former resident of Milan. She moved back to Westport in 2002. She graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1942. She had worked at Muscatatuck State Hospital and Milan State Bank. She was a member of the Westport Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crocheting, her little dog Joe and taking care of her grandchildren.

She married Garrett Wiley at the Westport Baptist Church on August 6, 1943 and he preceded her in death on October 21, 1993.

Survivors included her daughters, Donna (George) Cann and Ann Wiley both of Westport; her  granddaughters, Jill (Don) Sageser of Hartsville and Beth (Art) Pigmon of St. Paul; her great grandchildren, Michael (Lois) Cann and Cassandra Weaver both of Westport, Jim Pigmon of St. Paul; and her great great grandson, Oceano Cann of Westport.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garrett Wiley; Sister, Harriett Biddinger; brothers, Raymond Hamilton and Robert Hamilton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may through the funeral home to the Westport Christian Church.
