George W. Knight, 78, of Greensburg, passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. He was born on September 11, 1943 in Clifton, New Jersey, the son of Peter & Loreda (Cory) Knight. He lived a majority of his life in Greensburg and has also lived in Pennsylvania and Virginia. George had graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He was a minister having served at the Burney Baptist Church, the Bible Baptist Church in Logansport, the Freedom Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church in Kittanning, Pennsylvania and the Baptist Tabernacle in Alta Vista, Virginia. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greensburg. George enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and gardening. He married Shirley L. Johnson in Greensburg, on December 28, 1962 and she survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Nancy J. Rogalle of Nashville, Indiana and Rijne' (John) Cordes of Seymour; his sons, Robert (Jeannie) Rucker of Sparta, Tennessee, Rijn (Celeste) Abrell of Melbourne, Australia and George W. (Toni) Knight, Jr. of Rural Valley, Pennsylvania; his sisters, Mary Irene (John) Ewing of Greensburg, Barb Venable of Greensburg, Dottie Miller of North Vernon and Elaine Knight of Greensburg, his 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Robbie Anderson. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greensburg. Pastor Chuck Gerrin will be officiating with cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Cornerstone Baptist Church. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
