Daryel Robert Brown, 52 of Westport, passed away at 11:35 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at his residence with his wife and family by his side. He was born on February 3, 1969 in Rushville, the son of Robert C. Brown and Malva Sue (Ponder) Brown Henderson. He had been a resident of Decatur County the majority of his life and has lived in Westport since 2003. He graduated from Greensburg Community High School in 1987. He worked for Honda Mfg. of Indiana for 13 years and was a member of the NRA. In his spare time Daryel enjoyed antique shopping with his wife, mowing the yard, shooting guns with his wife and friends, throwing parties and having bonfires with family and friends, riding his Harley Davidson and taking motorcycle trips with his brother David where they rode the tail of the Dragon three times, visiting the "Wheels through Time" museum, fishing and being outdoors. Meeting Jesse James Dupree from the Rock Band Jackyl. Hanging out in his very own bar that he and his wife built together in their garage where he would listen to music for hours cleaning his Harley and enjoy a cold one. He found great joy in spending time with his wife, children, family, friends and spoiling his grandson Luke. He married the love of his life, Michelle Ann Lucas on September 10, 2016 in Westport and she survives. Other survivors are his daughter, Elizabeth Brown of Greensburg; sons, Peyton Brown of Westport and David Brown of North Vernon; his stepson, Aaron Lucas of Seymour; his sisters, Karen (Mark) Ricketts of Greensburg and Kathy Brown of South Carolina; his brothers, David (Norma) Brown of Greensburg and Dennis Brown (Synthia) of New Palestine; his grandson, Luke Edward Bushby of Greensburg; his Mother-in-law, Carol Beard of Crothersville. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Frank Beard; brother-in-law, Tony Beard. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Tessa Rigby officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to the 1:00 p.m. service time. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines inside the funeral home and the family asks visitors to wear masks.
