Jeffery Allen Tucker, 61, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his residence. Jeff was born June 2, 1959 in Greensburg, IN, he was the son of the late Willard and Vada (Callahan) Tucker. Jeff was married to Karen (Davidson) Tucker on July 7, 2012 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; she survives. Jeff was a 1977 graduate of Jennings County High School. After high school he worked at the Muscatatuck Developmental Center until it closed and then transferred to the Madison Correctional Facility in maintenance. Jeff was an avid hunter and loved every sport. He spent many years playing softball, but never hesitated to participate in any sport that he had the chance. In recent years, he and his wife began golfing together and enjoyed trying different courses throughout several states. Jeff was a devoted and loving husband, father, papaw, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He never hesitated to help out in any way possible; he was a very quiet and gentle person, but his presence was always strong felt. Jeff was a lifelong member of the Union Flat Rock Baptist Church where he served as treasurer, he also attended Risen Savior Bible Church, and caretaker of the Flat Rock Cemetery. Surviving with his wife, Karen Sue, are his children, Justin (Elizabeth) Tucker of North Vernon, Adam (Chelsea) Tucker of Franklin, Tara (Austin) Renoll of North Vernon; step-children, Whitney (Kyle) Vogel, Paige and Abby Wilcher all of North Vernon. Grandchildren, Brooklyn Tucker, of North Vernon, Elliett Tucker of Franklin, Luke, Kylie and Reid Vogel all of North Vernon. Brother, Greg (Annette) Tucker, and nephews Kyle and Trent Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Malvin McCullough officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Flat Rock Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Sunday January 3, 2021 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
