Andy James Mattox, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 5,2024 after complications proceeding surgery. He leaves his wife Sarah Mattox of Barre; 3 children Siera, Brenton and Thuroh; his parents, Gregg and Barbara Mattox of Indiana; 2 brothers, Jacob (Indiana) and Clint (Oregon); a sister Staci Karasch of Berlin, Germany; many brothers and sisters in laws; nieces; nephews and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be missed by his dog, Oakley, who loved him more than can be explained, even though Andy called him "debatable" but loved him just the same even when he denied it. Andy had a love for farming, fishing, making maple syrup in his homemade evaporator, was a member of the 15th Massachusetts volunteer infantry and any activity outdoors, including gardening and building his "shanties" as he liked to call them. Andy was a proud employee of Howe Lumber where he enjoyed over 7 1/2 years with the company. Starting as a driver, moved into a position of Receiver and then Purchaser for the past year. Andy was loved by so many people, and he had so much love for everyone. His laugh, smile and kind personality will be extremely missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
