Robert L. "Bob" Brown, aka, "Booboo", 76, of Westport, passed away at 5:31 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born on September 14, 1947 in Logansport, Indiana the son of Keith D. and Doris V. (Leiter) Brown. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and a 1965 graduate of Sandcreek High School. Bob was a metal fabricator, but his true passion was farming. He farmed south of Westport in Sardinia in his early years and most recently with his brother, Bill. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1968 in Vietnam. He is survived by his daughters, Melinda Rae "Mindi" (Jeff) Pennington of Avon and Holly Jo (Wes) Drury of Pekin; sisters, Beverly Jean Brown and Bonnie Sue Sample both of Greensburg; a brother, Bill (Kathy) Brown of Westport and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Charles Wayne Brown in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Reuben Kissel officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Decatur County American Legion through the funeral home.
