Carolyn M. McIntosh, 81, of Greensburg, peacefully left this earth at 7:49 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, for her eternal home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 29, 1944, in Greensburg, the daughter of Everett Howard & Opal Marie (Phillips) Bishop. She graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1962 and has been a Decatur County resident the majority of her life. For 24 years Carolyn worked as a 911 dispatcher for Decatur County. She was a current member of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church, where she served as the musical coordinator and accompanist. Carolyn married Ray McIntosh on June 2, 1962, in Letts, Indiana and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2019. She enjoyed reading, working on word search puzzles and playing the piano. She loved animals and for most of her life was never without a pet. She loved camping trips alongside her husband, Ray. They most favorably enjoyed their camping seasons as hosts at Buckhorn Lake, Kentucky. Carolyn's interest in music began at the early age of 5 years old, leading her to play many weddings and funerals by the time she was in 8th grade. She always expressed her gratitude towards her parents, who encouraged and supported her in her growth and love for music, even enrolling her at the Indiana Repertory Theatre of Indianapolis for advanced music lessons. Over the years she opened her home to share her love of music by providing piano lessons to numerous children and adults. She enjoyed thrifting, yard sales and bargain hunting, always searching for treasures to share with others. Family gatherings were her greatest joy. She could never get enough time spent with her grandchildren at birthday parties, cookouts, holiday gatherings or sleepovers at her home. She loved to attend their music programs and sporting events. She never failed to offer her advice, wisdom and encouragement to each one making sure they knew how much she loved them. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Wood, Teresa (Tony) Scudder and Nan (David) Miller; her son, Jerry (Michelle) McIntosh; her grandchildren, Allyssa (Dale), Bethany (Jeff), Candra, Chance, Danielle (Isaac), Jessica, Kaitlyn, Katie (Lee), Makayla (Rudi), Michelle (Jesse) and Olivia; her great grandchildren, Ava, Averie, Clarissa, David, Etta, Grant, Hudson, Israel (Barbie), Jesse, Joseph, Juniper, Lucy, Madison, Mateo, Payton, Rome, Sara, Sydney, Wesley and Bella. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, granddaughters, Molly McIntosh and Clarissa McIntosh, her great granddaughter, Rory Jackson, her brother, Everett Eugene Bishop and her son in law, James Wood. Following her wishes she will be cremated with burial at the Union Presbyterian Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday March 1, 2026, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastors Garrett & Marena Vittorio-Schindler officiating.
